Atalanta’s beer-making facilities have been the focus of a national conversation over the past year, as a wave of new breweries opened across Europe.
Now, the Italian city has taken a big step toward opening a second one in its hometown, with the city council approving a new law on Wednesday.
Under the new law, the city will be able to hire a new brewery owner.
In the past, Atalantans breweries have been owned by a handful of smaller companies, but with the new legislation, the state-owned company that owns the city’s two breweries will be the sole owner of all of them.
It is unclear if this new law will affect the future of the citys own two breweries, as the city has been working with the owners to establish a common ownership structure, according to the Associated Press.
