Soccer player Ricardo Lopez-Rivera died Monday morning after falling from a basketball court, according to the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner’s office.
He was 43.
He had been training for the World Cup for a few months.
Lopez-Rigarte had a history of heart problems, and his father said he had been diagnosed with the heart condition.
His death was not immediately known.
He coached for the National Team of Costa Rica, which won the 2014 World Cup.
