Nike is set to sell its soccer ball for $1,200 to the highest bidder, according to an ad that the shoe company released this week.
The ad, featuring NBA star Stephen Curry, stars the adoring basketball player as he explains how he would make a $2 million sale of the Adidas soccer shoes.
The shoe company also announced that the ad will air on ESPN and ESPN2 on Tuesday, Sept. 25, and Thursday, Sept 18.
The Adidas soccer shoe is one of several ad campaigns that the NBA star has been using to highlight his brand.
Curry is also an endorser of adidas, and his Nike ad is seen as a nod to the company’s partnership with the NBA and its relationship with Curry.
Adidas said that it will use the sale to raise funds for a sports science research center at the University of California, Los Angeles.
The center is focused on developing technology that will help athletes improve their performance and increase their playing time.
